The historic city of Kozhikode all set to build India’s biggest mosque. The proposed mosque will covering an area of 12 acres on the sprawling ‘Knowledge City‘ complex of Islamic religious and Cultural Jamia Markazu Ssaquafathi Sunniyya. Markazu campus is at Karanthur, about 10 km from Kozhikode city.
The mosque would be able to accommodate 25,000 people for prayer at a time and the expected cost of the massive structure would be around 40 crores.

The magnificent structure would be following the Mughal architectural style and will become a landmark structure of historic city of Kozhikode.
According to media reports the mosque building alone would cover an area of 8 acres, it would be surrounded by a green belt and beautiful garden of four acres.
The work would begin within five months and will be completed in less than two years and besides a vast prayer hall, the complex would have an auditorium for seminars, a huge library and facilities to accommodate over 1000 people at a time.
